Frequently asked questions regarding our fly fishing trips
Guidelines and Useful Information

  • YES!

It is your responsibility to have a valid fishing license BEFORE you arrive for your guided tour.

Please follow the link to purchase a license in Arkansas:

    www.agfc.com/en/resources/licensing/fishinglicenses/

  • If you have your own fly fishing gear (i.e. a rod, net, flies, etc.), please bring them. If you do not have your own gear, please let us know when you book your trip so we can provide them for you.

Additionally, we suggest bringing a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellant, a camera, rain gear, and shoes or sneakers that are easy to get on and off. Layers of comfortable, warm clothing are also recommended. Weather can be very unpredictable, especially on the water, and it is much better to be prepared. You can always remove a layer if you are too warm.

We do provide snacks and drinks for 1/2 day trips and light meals for full day and overnight trips. If you wish to bring your own alcohol, we will provide coolers to keep your drinks cold. Please let us know in advance if anyone in your party has food allergies so we can plan accordingly.

If you bring your own refreshments, please remember there is no littering, so you'll need to be responsible for taking any packaging and trash home with you.

You will be required to sign a Waiver & Release Agreement. Please return one signed waiver for each member of your party before your scheduled trip date, or bring a hard copy with you upon arrival. Please note that those under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian fill out the form and sign it for them.

  • In general, fish don't mind cloudy days or rainy weather, so be prepared for both - the fish will still be biting even if you're wet!

The only time a trip will be canceled is if the weather is so severe that being on the water presents a safety hazard, in which case you'll be notified as far in advance as possible and be given the opportunity to reschedule.

  • Tipping is not required but is greatly appreciated. 20% of the trip cost is customary. Your overall success and satisfaction should also be factored into the final amount.

  • We are a family-oriented business and enjoy guiding for parents and their children, as well as adults who are with minors. We will guide for those under the age of 16, unaccompanied by an adult, provided that a Waiver & Release Agreement is signed by a parent or adult guardian. We reserve the right to decline service to any minor who we feel may not be capable of taking a trip unsupervised.

A Waiver & Release Agreement needs to be signed by everyone. Those under the age of 18 will need to have them filled out and signed by a parent or an adult legal guardian.

Everyone should use their best judgment as to whether or not they have the mobility and balance to fully enjoy themself on the water. Adults should use their best judgment as to whether or not children or unsupervised minors are capable of taking the trip unaccompanied. If you do have any special requirements, please make us aware of them when you book your trip.

  • Not at all. We have our share of seasoned fly fishing enthusiasts who have been at it for years as well as novices and first-timers.

Regardless of your experience or skill level, we're here to help, coach, guide, support, and ensure the best success we can - as well as learn from each other. We're all about having fun, building friendships, and making memories.

  • Everyone attending a trip must fill out and sign a Waiver & Release Agreement.

We ask that you sign the agreement online by clicking here.

In addition, we also ask that you please download the form, print, sign, and bring a hard copy with you on the day of your trip.

Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or adult legal guardian fill out and sign for them.

No one will be allowed to participate without a signed agreement.

  • Cancellations must to be made at least 30 days before the trip departure date.
Cancellations made 29 days or less will forfeit their deposit. We will try to accommodate any reasonable rescheduling request.

Cancellations and reschedules must be made directly with Jake Flood and cannot be made through the website.
