Frequently asked questions regarding our fly fishing trips
Guidelines and Useful Information

  • YES!

It is your responsibility to have a valid fishing license BEFORE you arrive for your guided tour.

Please follow the link to purchase a license in Arkansas:

    www.agfc.com/en/resources/licensing/fishinglicenses/

  • If you have your own rod or flies and want to use them, please bring them. If you do not have anything, no worries! We provide everything you need.

Mandatory Items to Bring With You

    • Polarized Sunglasses (for eye protection from hooks and so you can see)
    • Hat
    • Refillable Water Bottle (Guides will have gallon jugs of cold water to refill your bottles)

We do provide snacks and drinks for 1/2 day trips and light meals for full day trips. If you wish to bring your own alcohol, we always provide coolers to keep your drinks cold. Please let us know in advance if anyone in your party has food allergies so we can plan accordingly.

  • In general, fish don't mind cloudy days or rainy weather, so be prepared for both - the fish will still be biting even if you're wet!

The only time a trip will be canceled is if the weather is so severe that being on the water presents a safety hazard, in which case you'll be notified as far in advance as possible and be given the opportunity to reschedule or have a refund.

We understand that things happen and plans change. We are willing to work with you to reschedule or get you a refund. However, If you cancel within 30 days and we do not rebook the guide for that day, your 50% deposit will be forfeited to the guide.

  • Tipping is greatly appreciated by your guide. 20% of the trip cost is customary. Your overall success and satisfaction should also be factored into the final amount.

  • We are a family-oriented business and enjoy guiding for parents and their children, as well as adults who are with minors. We will guide for those under the age of 16, unaccompanied by an adult, provided that a Waiver & Release Agreement is signed by a parent or adult guardian. We reserve the right to decline service to any minor who we feel may not be capable of taking a trip unsupervised.

A Waiver & Release Agreement needs to be signed by everyone. Those under the age of 18 will need to have them filled out and signed by a parent or an adult legal guardian.

Everyone should use their best judgment as to whether or not they have the mobility and balance to fully enjoy themself on the water. Adults should use their best judgment as to whether or not children or unsupervised minors are capable of taking the trip unaccompanied. If you do have any special requirements, please make us aware of them when you book your trip.

  • Not at all. We have our share of seasoned fly fishing enthusiasts who have been at it for years as well as novices and first-timers.

Regardless of your experience or skill level, we're here to help, coach, guide, support, and ensure the best success we can - as well as learn from each other. We're all about having fun, building friendships, and making memories.

  • Everyone attending a trip must fill out and sign a Waiver & Release Agreement.

Guides will have paper copies on them in the morning when they meet you.

    Download Waiver & Release Agreement.

Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or adult legal guardian fill out and sign for them.

  • We are willing to work with you to reschedule or get you a refund. Cancellations must to be made at least 30 days before the trip departure date.
Cancellations made 29 days or less will forfeit their deposit if we cannot rebook the guide for the day. We will try to accommodate any reasonable rescheduling request.

Cancellations and reschedules must be made directly with Jake Flood and cannot be made through the website.
